Location : Tukwila - hybrid

Duration: 6 month contract

Pay: $40-45/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a Buyer to support a space based intelligence company located in Seattle! You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality materials, components, and services that support the production of satellite systems. You will work closely with engineers and technical teams to understand the specific requirements for space-based technologies and ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources.

Key Responsibilities :

• Source and procure components, materials, and services required for satellite design and production in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand product specifications, design requirements, and technical constraints.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure cost-effective solutions and high-quality materials.
• Coordinate with internal teams to track inventory levels, lead times, and material delivery schedules, ensuring production timelines are met.
• Prepare purchase orders, ensure compliance with company policies, and maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
• Work with quality control teams to ensure that procured materials meet industry standards and compliance regulations.
• Support cost control efforts by identifying opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining product quality and performance.
• Coordinate logistics and manage shipping schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials to the production team.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise with suppliers or materials during the production cycle.

Qualifications :

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within the aerospace, defense, or high-tech industry.
• Proven experience working directly with engineers, technical teams, or design teams to procure specialized components or materials for technology-driven projects.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Plex ERP experience a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, environment while maintaining attention to detail.
