Job Description

Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized MV power converter system that is a Solid State replacement for the legacy MV transformer while enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. We are looking for mission driven team members passionate about making amazing products for worldwide electrification at maximum acceleration. Responsibilities

Lead a team through all stages of electronics and electrical system design including architecture, requirements definition, board design, reliability, compliance, and production ramp.

  • Provide technical leadership for the team and review schematics and layouts
  • Create design checklists and ensure high quality PCBAs with minimal board revisions
  • Bring a systematic approach to board bring up, failure analysis, and demonstrating reliability
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, software, test, and compliance leads to design top-quality hardware
  • Own the BOM and drive cost-down design while ensuring supply chain resilience
  • Run DFMEA to achieve compliant designs
  • Conduct abuse testing for ensuring safe designs that can handle worst case system faults

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent industry experience in electronics engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in power converter design and strong electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Expertise in designing boards using Altium or Cadence
  • Shipped multiple PCBAs in high volume products
  • 3+ years of experience managing a power electronics design team
  • Strong understanding of power electronics, EMI/EMC, and MV insulation
  • Designed complex systems with multiple isolation domains and voltage rails
  • Experience with grid-connected power systems, including grid-forming or grid-following inverter controls and related compliance standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communications in English
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
