Plum Paper, a division of Avery Products, is an e-commerce market leader in personalized planners and stationery based in Vista, CA. We are looking for a strategic Financial Analyst and Procurement Leader who thrives in a growing, dynamic and unique environment that is part entrepreneurial and part of an established corporate brand. As our new finance and procurement leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial plans, setting up and running our daily financial activities, supporting supplier and inventory needs and providing valuable insights to our leadership team.

What you will be doing as an integral part of the Plum Paper Leadership Team:

Finance Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site-level financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and local regulations.
  • Partner with central finance team on consolidation and strategic planning.

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and lead regular reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with internal controls and ethical standards.
  • Manage procurement KPIs and reporting.

  • Solid technical accounting skills and understanding of GAAP.
  • Manufacturing experience – cost accounting, inventory management, etc
  • Experience in purchasing and vendor management
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Experience using accounting software and financial systems/ERP.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIMA, CIPS) preferred.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in finance and procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and procurement best practices.

Demonstrated leadership skills/capabilities

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
