Job Description

We are searching for a versatile French Interpreter, specifically African French, who can bridge the linguistic gap in diverse scenarios ranging from medical, legal, community, to everyday interactions, enhancing comfort and comprehension. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and efficient French interpretation services across a variety of settings, including medical, community, and legal contexts.
  • Facilitate communication between non-French-speaking staff and French-speaking children, ensuring mutual understanding.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and abide by all ethical guidelines and standards of interpreting.
  • Assist with the translation of written materials as necessary.
  • Promote awareness among staff about the best practices of collaborating with an interpreter.
  • Be sensitive to cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a French interpreter, with exposure to medical, community, and legal interpreting scenarios.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Certification in Interpreting from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Must be located in or near El Paso, Texas
  • A language assessment maybe issued for those applying without certification
