Job Description

Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Schedule : Hybrid (4 days onsite/1 day WFH) 8a-5p

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000

Bonus : 10% bonus + employee ownership package

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of HRIS transactions while ensuring data integrity.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions including onboarding, position changes, and offboarding using an HRIS (preferably Workday).
  • Support offer letter generation and onboarding in collaboration with HR leadership and Talent Acquisition.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding plans with hiring managers to support new employee success.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to provide insights and support retention strategies.
  • Partner with leaders to identify development opportunities and create growth and coaching plans.
  • Lead or support employee relations investigations and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and job aids to streamline HR processes.
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance on policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Help align corporate HR programs with field and operational team needs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.
  • Analyze turnover and engagement data to identify trends and implement action plans.
  • Support company-wide HR initiatives, including engagement surveys and development programs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of HR generalist experience, supporting both field and corporate environments.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and organizational development.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, with a strong preference for Workday experience.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Proven ability to coach leaders and provide practical HR solutions.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
