Human Resources Manager
Reports to: COO/GM
JOB KNOWLEDGE/CORE COMPETENCIES
• Extensive experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning/development, employee relations, safety, and training.
• Solid understanding of club policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, club by-laws, and rules.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with staff and executive management as a key team member.
• Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
JOB TASKS/DUTIES
• Manages full-cycle recruitment: posts ads, develops strategies, screens applicants, checks references, makes hiring recommendations, and coordinates onboarding.
• Benchmarks recruitment and selection processes; explores and implements new industry strategies.
• Coordinates H2B visa program with legal counsel and F&B Director.
• Develops and maintains position-specific training materials.
• Supports department heads in employee training and professional development.
• Conducts and analyzes wage and benefit surveys; proposes enhancements to the COO/GM.
• Oversees employee performance appraisal system; recommends improvements.
• Ensures compliance with all employment laws and regulations; advises managers as needed.
• Schedules and leads employee safety meetings; maintains OSHA logs and reports.
• Updates the employee handbook and personnel policies; administers progressive discipline program and maintains policy manual.
• Administers group insurance, unemployment, and other benefits programs; communicates updates to staff.
• Coordinates employee events (e.g., holiday party, outings).
• Advises managers on employee relations issues, including discipline and terminations.
• Investigates policy violations and recommends corrective actions; liaises with legal counsel on EEOC, harassment, and related matters.
• Maintains organizational charts.
• Oversees work-related injury claims and ensures reporting compliance.
• Processes bi-weekly and special payroll; maintains payroll files and reporting.
• Conducts monthly audits for payroll, benefits, and workers’ compensation compliance.
• Serves as benefits administrator for health/life insurance and 401(k); facilitates education sessions, open enrollment, and claims support.
• Manages unemployment and workers’ compensation claims with vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Psychology, or Organizational Development.
• Training in employment law, compensation, planning/development, and employee relations preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and mediation skills.
• Proven ability to handle fast-paced environments with strong multitasking and follow-through.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with OSHA compliance and certification preferred.
• SHRM membership and/or active participation preferred.
• Experience in hospitality or nonprofit HR settings preferred.
• Skilled in mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Proficient in managing employee performance, compensation issues, and resolution strategies.
• Balances employee and organizational needs with fairness and legal compliance.
• Self-starter, capable of working independently.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
· Starting salary range $90,000 - $95,000 with regular salary reviews annually
