Job Title: Java Developer
Position Type: Contract
Location: Albany, NY, United States
Work Schedule: 8-hour day, 50/50 hybrid

Rate: $60 per hour

Description

We are seeking experienced Java Developers to join our team on a long-term contract engagement in Albany, NY. The selected candidates will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications in a government setting, with a strong emphasis on Java-based technologies, microservices, and cloud integration.

Mandatory Qualifications

1. Level II: 4–7 years of experience as a Developer.
2. 4–7 years of professional experience as a Java developer , with strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.
3. 4–7 years of experience working with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security , and ORM technologies ( Hibernate, JPA )

Desirable Qualifications

1. 4–7 years of proven experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures and RESTful APIs .
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
2. 4–7 years of experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and proficiency with build tools (Maven, Gradle).
3. 4–7 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools ( Docker, Kubernetes ).
4. 4–7 years of experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
5. 2+ years of experience working in a federal or state government environment (experience in Health and Human Services or Integrated Eligibility System programs such as PA, TA, SNAP, HEAP, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc. preferred).
6. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field , or equivalent professional experience.
