American Metals Supply isn't just another HVAC distributor—we're a 100% employee-owned company where every team member plays a vital role in our shared success. We're currently looking for a Junior Buyer who's eager to learn and grow in a dynamic purchasing environment.

What You'll Do:

• Keep inventory levels just right at each branch—never too heavy, never too light
• Monitor demand trends and adjust purchasing to avoid shortages or excess
• Work directly with vendors to get accurate lead times, delivery timelines, and product availability
• Resolve pricing and invoice discrepancies before they become a problem
• Review daily suggested POs and make confident calls
• Identify slow-moving or aged inventory and help keep our shelves agile
• Stay plugged into the industry—attend trainings, trade shows, and vendor events

What You Bring to the Table

We're not just looking for someone who can punch in purchase orders—we want someone who brings energy, insight, and ownership to the role.

• Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics is preferred—but not required
• HVAC or building construction knowledge is a big plus
• A quick learner who is eager to grow and develop in the field of supply chain and purchasing
• Strong interpersonal skills—you work well with warehouse crews, vendors, and leadership alike
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic inventory or ERP systems
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus, but not mandatory
