Lab Support Technician

Location: San Diego, CA

Position Type: Temporary/Contract

Hourly Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Shifts Available:

🕕 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday

🕚 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Job Overview

We are looking for a Lab Support Technician to join our team in San Diego. In this role, you will provide essential laboratory support, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly maintained and available for use. You will work closely with our research teams to ensure the smooth operation of lab processes and contribute to the success of ongoing projects. This is a temporary, full-time position with two available shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Wash, dry, and sterilize lab glassware; distribute it to appropriate locations
Maintain glass-washing facilities, operate autoclaves, and perform routine equipment maintenance
Inventory lab supplies and submit requests for ordering
Receive incoming shipments, match packing slips with POs, and update databases
Perform daily walk-throughs of critical equipment and troubleshoot issues
Handle and autoclave lab waste
Assist with other tasks as needed

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or 1-3 years of related experience
Experience with lab equipment and autoclaves is preferred
Ability to work in glassware rooms with humid conditions
Familiarity with aseptic techniques and basic laboratory processes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 150 lbs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
U.S. work authorization required
