Medical Lab Scientist II Full Time Evenings

Sign-On Incentive: Up to $15,000 Depending on Experience

Overview of the Role

This position involves conducting diagnostic laboratory testing on patients of all ages—newborns through adults—using standardized methods that require a high level of independent decision-making and accountability. With minimal oversight, the role includes operating and maintaining lab instruments, managing documentation, and engaging in quality control procedures to ensure testing accuracy.

The professional in this role is responsible for analyzing samples such as blood, tissue, and bodily fluids, utilizing both manual techniques and automated systems. Testing is performed across multiple disciplines, which may include areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, blood banking, or microbiology.

The individual ensures timely and accurate reporting of lab results in alignment with best practices, facility protocols, and regulatory requirements at both the main hospital and affiliated emergency facilities. This role also complies with the guidelines established by Florida’s Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel, operating within the full legal scope allowed. Additionally, this position includes the duties typically assigned to laboratory technicians.
