This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer, Systems Administrator in the United States .

The Network Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing complex IT infrastructure, including Windows servers and Cisco/Meraki networking environments. The role involves managing cloud and on-premises network devices, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting a secure and efficient IT ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with network administration, server management, and security best practices, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor junior IT staff. This position requires proactive engagement with emerging technologies and operational excellence to ensure optimal system performance. Operating onsite, the role provides the opportunity to influence network strategy, enhance reliability, and collaborate closely with a dedicated IT team.

Accountabilities

  • Manage and maintain Cisco/Meraki cloud and on-premises devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and security appliances.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Meraki cloud solutions to ensure seamless network operation.
  • Administer Windows servers, including WSUS, Active Directory, and related services.
  • Monitor and optimize server and device performance, network throughput, and security compliance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and network issues efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and support to IT staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security standards.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of demonstrated experience in systems administration and network engineering.
  • Strong experience managing Cisco/Meraki cloud and on-premises network devices.
  • Proficiency with Windows server administration, WSUS, and Active Directory.
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles.
  • Experience with server performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (OKTA, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator).
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Experience with endpoint protection solutions such as CrowdStrike.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Active or recent DHS experience highly desirable.
  • Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, or Microsoft Windows Server Administrator are a plus.
