Location: Phoenixville, PA Area Setting: Hospital ICU (Surgical/Medical) Shift: Full-Time, Nights (80 hours bi-weekly)

Introduction:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join our partner, a respected medical facility located near Phoenixville, PA. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to provide advanced practice nursing care within a collaborative and experienced critical care team.

Position Highlights:

  • Team Environment: Work alongside a collaborative and highly experienced clinical Critical Care team with excellent supporting staff.
  • Unit: Provide care within a 24-Bed combined Surgical/Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Support: Benefit from 24-hour in-house Anesthesia coverage.
  • Technology: Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Role Summary:

As a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner, you will manage critically ill patients within the Surgical/Medical ICU. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing diagnoses, implementing treatment plans, performing procedures (experience preferred), managing patient care in collaboration with physicians, and utilizing advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations on critically ill patients.
  • Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and manage acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Perform procedures such as central line and arterial line insertion (experience preferred).
  • Manage hemodynamic monitoring (experience preferred).
  • Collaborate effectively with critical care physicians, consulting physicians, RNs, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide patient and family education and support.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the EPIC EMR.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree (MSN) or Doctorate (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with an Acute Care specialization (Required).
  • License: Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) license with Acute Care certification (Required).
  • Certification: National board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC or AGACNP-BC) (Required); Current BLS and ACLS certifications (Required).
  • Experience: Prior experience as an RN or NP in a critical care (ICU) setting (Required); Experience with central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring (Preferred).
  • Skills: Proficiency with EPIC EMR (Required); Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills relevant to critical care.
