Job Description

Zeichner Risk Analytics (ZRA), a small firm providing policy, legal, and management consulting services to private sector and federal government clients in the field of cybersecurity, has an immediate opening for a paid policy research internship. Our offices are in Arlington, VA.

Duties for this position include: 

· Collaborate closely with ZRA consultants on research and policy analysis in response to client needs, especially relating to cybersecurity and government affairs.

· Assist with the creation of briefings and reports to convey research findings and strategic recommendations.

· Track legislative affairs, including taking notes at relevant Congressional hearings and other events.

· Provide basic editing, proofreading, and deliverable finalization.

Required skills and experience include:

· Proficiency in open-source research

· Skills and interest in policy analysis

· Excellent writing skills and attention to detail

· Interest in working in a multidisciplinary team and fast-paced environment

Required availability:

· Available to work at least 20 hrs/wk in our Arlington office; full-time preferred.

· Available to work for eight weeks (exact start and end dates are flexible); the internship may be extended based on mutual interest and performance.

Additional Information

· Selected applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test and background review, which includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.

· Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain an upper-level security clearance (Top Secret), which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

· Applicants offered employment are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.
