Job Description

MAU is hiring a Press Operator for Magnera in Nashville, TN. As a Press Operator, you will operate and maintain a flexographic printing press by following safety procedures, inspecting product quality, troubleshooting issues, monitoring color and ink properties, training team members, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication across shifts. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information:

  • 12-hour night shift
  • Training on the day shift for 60–90 days before transitioning to nights

Required Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience operating a flexographic printing press

Preferred Experience:

  • 8–10 color flexographic printing experience preferred
  • Preferred experience with W&H equipment, including Vistaflex, Astraflex, Novoflex, as well as F&K, Kidder, PCMC, and/or Uteco presses

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

General Requirements:

  • Completion of safety orientation and forklift certification training
  • Basic math skills (metric and standard)
  • Ability to use color measuring instruments (e.g., Gretag)
  • Understanding of ink viscosities and their effect on color
  • Knowledge of basic color theory and control in multi-color printing
  • Ability to apply data and statistical tools for root cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Professional communication and teamwork skills
  • General computer proficiency (e.g., Shop Floor, Quality Windows)
  • Ability to train new team members
  • Knowledge of flexographic press components and makeready procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret Job Discrete Routing Sheets and identify raw materials
  • Competency in shift-to-shift information transfer
  • Understanding of MSDS and SOC sheets and proper completion procedures
  • Good housekeeping and organizational practices
