Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer plays a critical role within our Engineering department will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and machinery specific to ice cream production that are crucial for the efficient operation of our production lines. This role involves working closely with both the engineering team and production staff to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality machinery and processes are developed and maintained.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Process Design and Improvement - Design and implement manufacturing processes for ice cream production, focusing on efficiency, quality, and scalability. Analyze current processes and machinery to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Support - Provide technical expertise and support to the production team, troubleshooting issues with machinery and processes to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with other engineers, production staff, and external vendors to develop and implement solutions that enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Compliance and Safety - Ensure all machinery and processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Innovation - Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in manufacturing and ice cream production. Propose and evaluate new technologies or methods that could enhance production efficiency, product quality, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Documentation - Maintain detailed documentation for all machinery, processes, and projects, including specifications, operating instructions, and maintenance schedules.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry with a focus on ice cream or similar products.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, process engineering, and project management.
  • Knowledge in CAD software and experience with automation and robotics is highly desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to food manufacturing
