About the Role



We are seeking a driven Project Manager who is ready to take on big responsibilities in a growing, passionate team.

In this role, you will be manage projects ranging from $250,000 to $8 million, supporting energy engineering and energy upgrades from start to finish — including lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope improvements, and compliance audits (ASHRAE Level I and II).

Much of our work is on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Some travel (20%–30%) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Growth and success of Project Engineers and Assistant Project Engineers
• Estimate project budgets and produce finished proposals
• Collaborate with engineers to design high-value energy-saving measures
• Develop project scopes of work and bid packages
• Manage contracts with Owner and Subcontractors from start to finish, including change management
• Drive on-time and on-budget projects with tight management of costs and schedule
• Clearly and effectively communicate with team and client, ensuring satisfaction and successful outcomes
• Coordinate onsite staff and contractors
• Oversee timely submittals and Operations and Maintenance Manual delivery
• Bridge between field realities and engineering design to meet or exceed energy saving goals
• Collect, review and run calculations based on large data sets

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a project manager/estimator running successful projects
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in STEM/Engineering related
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Customer-focused and professional demeanor
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally and nationally
• Clean DMV record

Bonus Skills

• Master’s Degree preferably in STEM/Engineering related
• Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related fields)
• Experience conducting compliance audits (ASHRAE Level I or II)
• Familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and retro-commissioning (RCx)
• Experience with control system programming or building automation systems
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and standards
• Strong data entry and calculation skills, especially for energy modeling
• Coding experience
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in various indoor/outdoor conditions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on-site in commercial buildings, sometimes in tight, enclosed, or elevated spaces (e.g., mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawlspaces)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per day)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
