Job Description

Psychologist

Are you a motivated psychologist who is passionate about children, adolescents, and families? Do you love assessment and want to find a place where you can use your clinical skills to provide clarity and direction to families with multiple stressors when boutique evaluation services are out of reach? Do fun, curious colleagues and a cohesive, dedicated team sound like a good fit? If your answers to these questions are yes, yes, and yes, come and join us at Children’s Research Triangle!

We are a nonprofit agency in downtown Chicago that provides a variety of mental health services to under-resourced children, adolescents, and families. Our areas of special expertise include prenatal substance exposure and trauma; and we are currently in search of a full-time clinical psychologist or neuropsychologist to join our Evaluation Team. Early career professionals are welcome to apply! We are a National Health Services Corps site, which makes student loan repayment assistance a possibility for licensed clinicians. Other benefits include generous PTO, as well as medical, vision, and dental insurance.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

1. Conduct assessment with children and adolescents in the context of comprehensive medical and neuropsychological evaluations

  • Review and generate appropriate referral questions
  • Conduct clinical interviews with caregivers, collateral sources (e.g., residential treatment staff; DCFS caseworkers), and clients
  • Review records and integrate information to choose appropriate, evidence-based measures
  • Administer, score, and interpret measures
  • Integrate information and make clinical decisions
  • Provide feedback to caregivers/collateral sources (e.g., residential treatment staff; DCFS caseworkers) and clients
  • Make useful, individualized recommendations
  • Generate quality reports

2. Provide consultation to caregivers/collateral sources as needed

3. Provide case management and follow-up with families/collateral sources as needed

4. Complete required documentation in accordance with agency policies and best practices

Opportunities to conduct therapy, provide supervision to postdoctoral clinicians and practicum students, train professionals at CRT and other agencies, train community members, and contribute to grant proposals or research projects are available.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited institution
  • Valid Illinois license (or plan to obtain one)
  • Experience with evidence-based assessment of children and adolescent (special emphasis on children and adolescents with trauma exposure)
  • Competence with evidence-based therapy approaches

Our ideal candidate will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and a desire to learn and grow. A dedication to children and families with child welfare involvement would be ideal, as well.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Children’s Research Triangle benefit options include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Annual $500 professional development training allowance
  • 12 paid holidays and 3 flexible holidays
  • Paid time off (PTO)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chicago, IL 60601

To join our warm, collaborative team, please submit a letter of interest, your CV, and at least one deidentified psychological evaluation as a sample of your written work to Dr. Corinne Fleming at cfleming@cr-triangle.org.

Children’s Research Triangle does not discriminate in the employment of individuals on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, disability, religious affiliation, sex or age. BIPOC applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
