The Red Fox Inn & Tavern is a boutique inn in Middleburg, VA, offering 22 guest rooms, suites, and cottages, a tavern and a pub featuring classic Piedmont Virginia fare, and a landmark venue for weddings and social events. Established in 1728, The Red Fox is one of the oldest operating Inns in the nation and prides itself on offering an exceptional guest experience. 

Summary of Position:

We are seeking a dynamic front of house professional with both International and Virginia wine knowledge. We’re searching for a natural leader who has the ability to connect with our guests and confidently guide our staff. Accountability, composure and an eye for detail are some of the most important attributes needed to lead our team to success. If you are passionate about food, wine, exceptional service and luxury hospitality, The Red Fox Inn & Tavern may be the right fit for you. We require at least a Level 1 WSET certification for this role. Our Restaurant and Wine Manager reports to the Food and Beverage Director and leads a team of ~15.

Responsibilities:

▪ Directly lead and develop FOH service staff including servers, bartenders and server assistants according to RFI&T policies and ensure our “Every Experience, Every Time” standards are always met

▪ Ensure all guests are given exceptional service that follows the RFI&T service standards and resolve any problems that arise in a courteous and timely fashion while coordinating with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience

▪ Develop food and beverage menus by collaborating with our management team and possess a "sales mentality" across all departments

▪ Contribute to inventory management by maintaining best practices and process improvements as needed

▪ A degree in Hospitality or a related field is a plus.

Qualifications:

***Must have at least a Level 1 WSET certification

▪ Must be at least 21 years of age

▪ Previous fine dining restaurant experience required (3 years)

▪ Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays

▪ Must possess impeccable grooming qualities and dress in business attire

▪ High energy, luxury language, professional body language, and integrity

▪ Demonstrate teamwork, customer service focus and strong multitasking skills

▪ Possess basic math skills, have the ability to operate a cash register, POS system, and computer systems

▪ Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop

▪ Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)

▪ Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
