General Summary…

The Sanitation Teammate is responsible for providing value to our customer. This is accomplished by cleaning and maintaining the warehouse facility.

This Position Will Be Responsible For…

• Cleaning of facility and fixtures both inside and outside the distribution center, including floors, walls, guard rail, mezzanines, dock fixtures, stairwells, parking areas and grounds.
• Assist in correcting all audit non-conformances pertaining to sanitation.
• Other responsibilities may include painting, snow removal,construction/demolition, installations, stocking of supplies, and assisting the Maintenance mechanics as needed.
• Ensure all sanitation equipment is in good working order to permit you to perform your duties in an efficient manner that is consistent with the company’s standards of quality.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Floors are free of debris at all times and tools are in good, clean working condition.
• Recognize FedEx Supply Chain’s commitment to pride and quality work.
• Report any equipment or facility abuse to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Participate in safety and emergency assignments as needed for the safe operation of the facility.
• Ensure all warehouse activity records are prepared in a timely manner and effectively maintained.
• Review operating goals and standards on a daily basis to monitor achievement
• Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of the other positions. Assist as required. Act as backup at times of absence or vacation.

You might be a great fit if…

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Facility and material handling experience
• Experience with and/or capacity to learn to operate powered material handling equipment, i.e. electric pallet jack, order picker, turret truck and sit down/stand up forklift
• Not afraid of working on equipment at extended heights
• Must be capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs; must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop for extended periods of time
• Must have strong, demonstrated safety and attendance history, with no more than four attendance points
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to count accurately, do simple math and write legibly
• Strong sense of urgency; flexibility in meeting deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal required
• Flexibility to adjust hours and work overtime, including weekends when necessary
• Work in a non-climate controlled environment
