About the Position:
Gabel seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Advanced Energy Solutions (AES) Division, support our clients and projects, and grow our client base. The AES Division supports end-use customers in the development of energy and sustainability projects and initiatives. The end-use customer clients are public and private entities, including a heavy emphasis on services to municipalities, school districts, counties, colleges, and universities. This work includes conducting feasibility, carbon reduction, and sustainability studies, and supporting the development and procurement of energy projects.
The firm is looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to lead and support the development of large-scale renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability projects for public and private entities.

Responsibilities:
• Manage staff and support the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency, battery storage, resiliency, combined heat and power, and other sustainability initiatives
• Undertake frequent and in-depth interaction with clients toward the development of advanced energy projects
• Lead the development and implementation of procurement processes on behalf of end-use customer clients, which includes preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs), reviewing and analyzing proposals, and negotiating agreements to allow projects to be financed, constructed, and maintained
• Manage and support the development of carbon reduction and other energy-related plans to help clients achieve their energy and environmental goals
• Undertake marketing activities and client engagement to grow the business of the AES Division
• Develop client-ready deliverables and present analysis, results, and reports to internal and external stakeholders simply and effectively
• Follow industry developments and identify trends, opportunities, and risks relevant to our client base
Required Qualifications:
• At least 7 years of related work experience in a professional setting
• Strong experience and technical, economic, and financial understanding of on-site renewable energy, energy efficiency, battery storage, and other cost-saving energy technologies
• A strong understanding of procurement processes, especially public sector procurement in New Jersey
• Strong experience in writing sustainable energy and carbon reduction plans
• Strong understanding of energy markets and policy
• Experience with marketing and business development efforts, especially lead generation, proposal development, and sales-related follow-up
• Ability to manage staff and work collaboratively with employees, clients, and other stakeholders
• Experience working with corporate, not-for-profit, institutional, municipal, university, K-12 schools, and healthcare market segment clients
• Ability to simplify and translate complex topics into clear, persuasive terms, highlighting critical issues for diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations
• Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate staff
• Promote open and proactive communication, fostering an environment that encourages open discussions among team members and embraces constructive feedback and diverse perspectives
• AEE certifications are a plus
Candidates will be granted flexibility and the option to utilize a hybrid work structure, with the expectation of some in-person office presence in Highland Park, New Jersey. The position also requires attendance at client meetings (as dictated by project needs), typically within New Jersey.
