Job Description

The Senior Finance Manager will be a key member of our Finance team with responsibility for multiple locations. The successful candidate will be a member of the Business Unit management team and will be supported by a strong finance team.

The primary responsibility of the role will be the ownership and accountability for the management and financial reporting of the locations within the Business Unit, being a trusted partner for the Business Unit and ensuring the Business Unit’s strategic and commercial goals are successfully delivered. The SFM must be a true business leader to the operational and commercial teams, providing timely and accurate reporting as well as insightful financial analysis to help drive growth across the Business Unit.

This role is located in the Baltimore area - hybrid model

What you will do:

  • Ensure that all the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet by carrying out regular reviews
  • Monitor, and manage adherence to policies and procedures
  • Actively manage working capital to drive improvement and ensure the Business Unit meets and exceeds working capital targets
  • Develop processes to support growth and expansion
  • Lead the forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning processes within the Business Unit by providing high quality and insightful analysis that demonstrates financial leadership, best practice and drives strong financial performance
  • Manage actual versus budget, and prior year trending, analysis for the Business Unit monthly
  • Provide a challenge to operational teams to drive cost base improvements where needed
  • Serve as trusted business partner, proactively providing advice and decision support on business strategy, investment options, commercial decisions and overall financial and operational optimization opportunities throughout the Business Unit
  • Provide proactive analysis and commentary on business performance that demonstrates a strong understanding of industry and market factors - summarize key conclusions and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Provide forward thinking analysis to identify growth opportunities and where we should invest in both capital spend and people to enable growth
  • Closely partner with Business Unit leadership team to provide support for M&A and integration activities
  • Ensure Business Unit finance team works as a cohesive part of the group
  • Manage, motivate and develop a team of finance professionals in various locations

Looking for:

  • Minimum five years accounting and audit experience gained in public practice
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to generate successful outcomes
  • Experience of budgeting / forecasting would be advantageous
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel modelling skills and PowerPoint
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work and interact with all levels of personnel in the company
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a continuously evolving environment
  • Some local and international travel will be required
  • Systems implementation would also be advantageous
  • International group and Private Equity experience would be advantageous
  • BS degree in Finance
