Job Posting: Senior Maintenance Technician

Location: Wilmington, MA (with occasional travel to Boston and Cambridge, MA

Position Type: Contract with potential to convert to full time

Pay : 25-34 per hour DOE

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Maintenance Technician to join our client, a global pharmaceutical company. This role involves leading and performing routine and complex maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of their physical plant and expansion projects. The ideal candidate is a versatile professional with expertise in various skilled trades and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex maintenance and construction tasks, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and floor/wall coatings.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance for specialized systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC/boilers).
  • Operate and maintain construction equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Diagnose and repair machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance, equipment calibration, and snow/ice removal.
  • Assist with capital improvement projects and office moves.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist in gathering parts and product information.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call maintenance coverage on a rotating schedule.
  • Train and oversee lower-level maintenance staff.
  • Ensure safety compliance in all work performed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, with specialized training in maintenance or construction.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in building construction/maintenance; equivalent education and experience combinations considered.
  • Certification: Valid driver’s license required.
  • Skills: Ability to read blueprints and maps; specialized expertise in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands, and reach.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds.
  • Requires good vision, including depth perception and color vision.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently work near moving machinery and in outdoor conditions.
  • Occasionally work at heights, in confined spaces, or near hazardous materials.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.

Additional Requirements:

  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
