About the Role:
We are seeking a proven and results-driven Shop Manager to lead day-to-day operations in our high-output, high-quality custom stone fabrication facility. This position requires a confident, hands-on leader who understands the demands of a fast-paced production environment and can effectively manage people, processes, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of stone fabrication and a strong track record of leading teams to meet and exceed performance expectations in quality, throughput, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all production floor activities including material handling, cutting, CNC machining, polishing, and finishing operations.
  • Manage a team of fabricators, operators, and support staff to ensure consistent execution of daily production goals.
  • Maintain strict quality control standards and ensure all fabricated pieces meet project specifications and client expectations.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and work orders with precision.
  • Coordinate labor and equipment scheduling for incoming projects, balancing capacity and deadlines.
  • Monitor machinery performance, enforce maintenance routines, and ensure optimal uptime and cleanliness.
  • Enforce a strong safety culture and ensure all staff are trained and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members to improve skillsets, accountability, and engagement, helping to make it easy for them to succeed.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to align priorities and quickly resolve bottlenecks.
  • Proactively identify production challenges and implement solutions to improve output and efficiency.
  • Meet or exceed company KPIs for efficiency, claims, output & safety. 
  • Track and strategically order equipment and supplies within budget.
  • Do 1-on-1s with each member of the fabrication team with the objective of helping them set and reach their goals. 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in stone fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of natural and engineered stone materials (granite, marble, quartz, porcelain, etc.) and fabrication techniques
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage production teams in a high-output environment
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, CAD drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols; OSHA certification preferred
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems for scheduling and inventory
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday
  • Tolerance for working in an active shop environment with dust, noise, and temperature variations
