A leading hospitality group is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join the culinary team at one of its high-end restaurant concepts in Malta. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of classic French cuisine, refined technique, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day running of kitchen operations.
Lead by example in preparing and presenting dishes rooted in high-end classic French culinary tradition.
Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency and high performance.
Contribute to menu development, bringing creativity while honoring French techniques and seasonal ingredients.
Maintain strict hygiene, HACCP compliance, and food safety standards.
Manage kitchen inventory, assist with purchasing, and support cost control measures.
Ensure excellent coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless dining experience.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in fine dining, including at least 2 years as a Sous Chef or equivalent leadership role.
Proven expertise in classic French cuisine is required.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
High attention to detail, with a passion for plating and presentation.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
