Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Acoustics Engineer with expertise in 12V vehicle speaker and environmental optimization. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing high-quality speakers and acoustical environments for all 12V vehicle applications including weather exposed environments. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in acoustics, audio engineering, and a passion for delivering exceptional sound experiences in the 12V industry.

Responsibilities:

• Speaker Design: Develop and design car and marine audio speakers, considering factors such as environment, size, materials, and frequency response to achieve optimal sound quality.

• Acoustic Analysis: Conduct thorough acoustic analysis to assess and enhance and optimize the performance of speakers in various vehicle environments.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, sales team, and product designers, to integrate speakers seamlessly into car and marine audio systems.

• Work with factories and engineering teams based in Asia, South and North America to take designs into production including site visits and launch support.

• Prototype Development: Create and test prototypes of audio speakers, iterating designs based on performance evaluations and feedback.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure that speakers meet specified performance, quality, and sonic signature standards through rigorous testing and validation processes.

• Research and Development: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in audio engineering to incorporate cutting-edge features into speaker designs.

• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and reports, to facilitate efficient collaboration and product development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustic Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience (minimum of 7 years) in designing audio speakers, preferably in the automotive/marine industry.

• Strong knowledge of acoustics, signal processing, and audio electronics.

• Proficiency in using simulation tools and software for speaker design.

• Hands-on experience with prototype development and testing.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong experience with complying with OEM manufacturing requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Vehicle audio systems.

• Experience with CAD software for speaker enclosure design.

• Knowledge of sound tuning techniques for optimal in-vehicle audio experiences.

• Hands-on experience with acoustic measurement tools (e.g., Klippel, Audio Precision).

• Expertise in waterproof materials and their application in acoustics design

• Passion for audio technology and a commitment to delivering superior sound quality.

• Prior home audio experience a plus.
