This is a temporary role expected to last through the end of January 2026.

SO, WHAT'S THE STORY?

Dr. Martens is ramping up for a busy end of year as we hire seasonal retail employees across the United States. We are looking for a Temporary HR Assistant to support onboarding and offboarding a large quantity of employees, as well as pitching in to make the HR Operations Team run smoothly. This role plays a critical part on our HR Operations Team for the Americas region ensuring our employee data is captured and processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regional laws.

You are a trusted and reliable HR practitioner who knows how to tactically support all sub departments of the HR function. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and help out on any task. Being able to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented, and sometimes ambiguous environment is part of being at DM’s, but the following provides key activities:

  • Process admin tasks related to full employee lifecycle. Process forms for hires, job changes, terminations, and employee data updates; maintain employee discounts; conduct I-9s; send and file DocuSigns.
  • Answer general questions sent to US HR inbox.
  • Process physical mail.
  • Ensure processes align with state and local laws.
  • Collect documentation for weekly payroll audit.
  • Maintain accurate employee records through use of our HRIS, Dayforce.
  • Update SOPs as system functionality expands.
  • Support employees in receiving annual W2.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Similar administrative work experience in an HR role preferred.
  • High level of ethical standards to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects from more than one person simultaneously with a high level of organization, attention to detail, efficiency, and punctuality.
  • HR & Payroll system experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Confidence to have a point of view and express it diplomatically, influencing as needed to ensure HR best practice.
  • Great leadership and relationship management that delivers results through effective teamwork.
  • International/domestic travel required: 0%.
  • Ability to work at a standard computer set up 40+ hours per week, with or without accommodations.

PAY DETAILS

  • $22.00 per hour
