About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst (Contractor) to join one of our clients' teams in McLean, VA . This is a highly visible role working directly with business stakeholders and technology teams to uncover insights, map data flows, and communicate findings that drive critical decisions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on SQL expert with strong analytical skills and a polished client presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex data analysis projects and present findings to business and technology stakeholders.
• Develop advanced SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate large datasets.
• Map and document data lineage , ensuring clarity on data flows across systems.
• Conduct End-User Computing (EUC) analysis to assess and report on user data access patterns.
• Partner with internal teams to recommend solutions that improve data quality and governance.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL expertise with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Proven experience in data lineage mapping and data flow analysis.
• Exceptional communication skills with a professional, client-facing presence.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver clear presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Experience in financial services or banking is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Contract Details

• Type: W-2 or 1099
• Location: Onsite in McLean, VA (no remote option)
• Duration: Multi-month contract with potential extension
