Job Description

Immediately hiring Wire Technicians for a large security company in San Antonio.

Pay is $23/hr.-$30/hr. depending on experience.

Shift is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.

Wire Tech duties:

• Install data equipment - racks, cable trays, patch panels.
• Cabling installs for data (CAT 3, 5e, 6), voice, and fiber optic.
• Pull wire
• Install and configure CCTV, alarm panels, motion detectors, and intrusion systems.
• Operate testing equipment on installations to verify accuracy.
• Mount and install telecommunication racks, network cabinets, and server room hardware.
• Terminate copper and fiber optic cables using RJ-45 connectors, keystone jacks, and fiber splice enclosures.
• Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
• Run and terminate cabling for video, audio, and power.
• Program security panels and DVR/NVR systems.
• Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper functionality.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Wire control panels and integrate with security or alarm systems.
• Program user permissions, schedules, and access levels.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, service calls, and inspections.
• Ensure all work meets NEC, TIA/EIA, local codes, and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Ability to read technical schematics.
• 2+ years of experience in low-voltage, security, or network cabling installations.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, fiber optic tools, and access control components.
• Ability to use tools such as OTDRs, multimeters, crimpers, and hand/power tools.
