Position Summary:
The SVP, Business Affairs- Advertising runs the day-to-day business affairs needs and maintain the intuitional knowledge of our client brand's unique needs. Manages large scale productions and keeps up to date and provides BA oversight on all productions The SVP, Business Affairs- Advertising will also act as Artist Equity’s BA representative to the entertainment community and ensure that Artists Equity is seen as a fair and reasonable company concerning our deal-making in connection with the development and production of all of Artists Equity’s commercial endeavors.
Essential Functions:
● Serves as advisor on all business affairs needs.
● Negotiate all talent, music and content licenses.
● Attend creative briefs and presentations and raise any potential legal and network issues with the brand team.
● Ensure team works collaboratively across other disciplines.
● Work with producers to provide accurate production estimates.
● Issues production contracts and obtains proper production insurance.
● Collaborates with Producers, Brand and Finance to make sure billing and payments are being made in a timely manner.
● Assist Producers and Brands in the actualizing and closing of jobs.
● Oversees network clearance practice.
● Act as a liaison with outside counsel.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· The ideal candidate for this position must have varied and extensive Business Affairs experience working at top creative-driven agencies.
· 7-10 Years experience and law degree is preferred.
· Excellent drafting and negation skills, and concrete understanding of the broad array of legal concepts applicable to advertising.
· Experience with union and non-union productions, branded partnerships, interactive and social campaigns.
· Ability to manage urgent deadlines and a variety of tasks while maintaining a problem-solving attitude.
· Demonstrated project management skills and the maturity and capability to function at a high level in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
