Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing corrective actions.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) for quality-related issues.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to customer specifications and industry standards in a custom heavy fabrication environment.
• Conduct internal audits to evaluate quality compliance.
• Define and monitor quality metrics (KPIs) and generate reports for management review.
• Support the development and maintenance of inspection and testing procedures for materials and final products.
• Oversee and manage calibration programs for tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the production lifecycle.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on quality standards, processes, and problem-solving techniques.
• Interface with clients and suppliers on quality-related matters, including issue resolution and audits.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong background in heavy fabrication & machining.
• Proven experience in writing and implementing SOPs in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of quality systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, SPC).
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (ASME).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Proficient in using quality management software and tools (e.g., Minitab, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or ASQ certifications.
• Hands-on experience with welding, machining, and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
