Job Description

Warehouse Lead (Storekeeper) – Tonawanda, NY

Salary: $25 - $29/hour

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Lead (Storekeeper) to join our client's team in Tonawanda, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations, inventory management, hazardous material compliance, and ensuring a well-maintained and secure warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and prepare shipments, verifying items against packing lists.
  • Conduct inventory counts and identify overstock or shortages.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Coordinate crate building and purchases for shipments.
  • Issue components for manufacturing and sales orders.
  • Inspect critical components against design specifications.
  • Ensure hazardous material compliance for shipping.
  • Maintain a secure, organized, and clean warehouse environment.
  • Handle snow removal and salting of facility entrances in winter months.
  • Oversee daily priorities and adherence to established procedures.
  • Represent the department in meetings as needed.
  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts and oil skids.
  • Assist in the coordination of shipments and vendor outsourcing.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 quality standards and all safety procedures.
  • Provide courteous and responsive service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a warehouse, stores, or shipping environment.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory control, and materials handling.
  • Experience with hazardous material compliance and logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Physical ability to stack, lift, climb ladders, operate a forklift, and work at elevated heights.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to train and guide temporary personnel.
  • Must be physically present on-site to fulfill job duties.
